Design Release Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Release Engineer to join our team within the Automotive industry. This role will focus on ensuring the successful release of designs, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and collaborating effectively within a team environment. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

The Design Release Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks related to the design release process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and efficient problem resolution. Specific responsibilities include:

• Analyzing design releases to identify potential issues and risks.
• Employing Root Cause Analysis techniques to investigate and resolve design-related problems.
• Supporting the Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) process to enhance design robustness.
• Facilitating and participating in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential failures.
• Managing and tracking PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions and ensuring compliance with requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering principles, coupled with practical experience in design release and validation processes. The following skills and qualifications are essential:

• Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw logical conclusions.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to systematically identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engineering Proficiency: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Ug/Nx, Catia V5, PLM, and Team Center.
• Quality Assurance Methodologies: Familiarity with DfmEA, DVP&R, Control Plan, and PFMEA.
• Statistical Tools: Experience with Shainin, DOE (Design of Experiments).
• Vehicle Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of Vehicle Dynamics, Ride Comfort, Tire Math Model, Tire Testing, and Wheel Testing.

Experience Required: 3 - 8 years of relevant experience in a design or release engineering role within the automotive industry. This level of experience indicates a level of seniority where independent problem-solving and mentorship of junior engineers are expected.
